We The Deceived: The Seduction of Christian America (DVD)

Is America a Christian nation? What evidence is there to that effect? Were the founders of the U.S. Constitution Christians? Is the Constitution a Christian document? If we are a Christian nation, how have we drifted so far from Christian principles in government?

In this series, Dr. Gary North charts a course, a course that takes us back in time over 230 years ago. He brings us to the table of examination to witness what America was prior to 1787 – what was happening politically, economically and socially during this time period and who was involved in changing our Constitution.

While those men who met at the Constitutional Convention were called to strengthen the Articles of Confederation, they were also forbidden to draft a completely different Constitution. However, they dismissed their charges and did so anyway. They sought to establish a moral government without appealing to the Triune God of Scripture by using the model Roger Williams had employed in Rhode Island. As such, they established a government not based upon God as the sovereign of the Nation, but the People as the new and absolute sovereign.

During this two hour presentation, Dr. North explains how covenants are made, discusses the principles of a covenant and then gives historical evidence to show how the Constitution established a new sovereign in America and how it completely dismissed the God of the Bible from its pages. The impact of our founder’s ideas led to the states removing any religious test oaths in their state constitutions to be more in line with the Federal Constitution.
