There are many fine DVD’s about the history of the Bible (which makes me wonder why this is called “the untold history of the Bible”). Unfortunately, this is not one of them. There are many factual errors. Its contentious attitude against the medieval church because of its many corruptions cause them to group together all sects outside the church as persecuted Protestants. This is particularly evident in their treatment of the Albigensians. The Albigensians were Gnostics, who rejected Christ’s physical death and resurrection. As the church said, they were heretics. This DVD, however, groups them with the Waldensians, a group of true believers. You can find better choices than this.
This is the most comprehensive film regarding the history of the Bible that I have ever seen to date. This film is easy to follow and understand. It is constantly interjecting pictures and short dramatizations regarding the information being explained. The script is concise and at times compelling. This film leaves no stone unturned.
I’ve enjoyed other Adullam films and was really engrossed in this one until it seems it went off the tracks. It seems to jump into KJV Onlyism in order further the repudiation of the Jesuits or vice versa. At best it became a prime example of the genetic fallacy or at worst conspiracy mongering to the tenth degree. I don’t know which. I’d love to hear what Dr. James White, no fan of Catholicism or KJV Onlyism mind you, would say about this film. Until then, buy some other great materials here at Nicene Council. Now I understand why they’ve had disclaimers on the Adullam films.
